These terms cover buying FoxQuill. The End User License Agreement covers using it. The Privacy notice covers what FoxQuill does with data.
Who you are buying from#
FoxQuill is made and sold by FoxQuill, a sole trader based in Singapore.
Payment is handled by Polar Software Inc., who act as the merchant of record. That means Polar takes the payment, handles the tax, and appears on your statement. Your receipt comes from them.
What the Lifetime license covers#
The Lifetime license gives you lifetime access to the major version of FoxQuill that was current when you bought it. For example, buying under FoxQuill 1 gives you every FoxQuill 1.x release, for as long as you like. It does not give you FoxQuill 2. A future major version may need an upgrade purchase or the monthly plan.
Every patch and minor update inside your major version is included. FoxQuill 1.0.3 and FoxQuill 1.9 are both included if you bought under FoxQuill 1.
FoxQuill runs on your own computer. Once activated, your Lifetime license does not depend on any server staying online. If FoxQuill disappears tomorrow, the copy on your computer keeps working and your files stay yours.
The two plans#

Prices are in United States dollars. Tax is added at checkout where the law requires it, and Polar handles that.
The free trial#
FoxQuill offers a 7-day free trial. There is nothing to pay and no card to enter.
The trial belongs to the computer, not to the person. Uninstalling and installing FoxQuill again does not start a second trial.
When the trial ends, FoxQuill asks for a license key before it opens a book. Nothing is deleted. Your writing stays in your data folder, and it opens again the moment you activate. You can also export everything before the trial ends; see “Leaving with your work”.
The monthly plan#
It renews every month until you cancel. Cancel any time through the link in your receipt, or through Settings > License > Manage my account.
When you cancel, FoxQuill keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for. After that FoxQuill asks for a key again. Your files stay where they are.
Devices#
One license key works on three computers. To move it to a fourth, free a slot first: open Settings > License on a computer you no longer use and press Deactivate this computer. You can also manage activations from your Polar account.
Refunds#
Refunds are handled by Polar.
Ask for a refund within 14 days of buying and you will get one, no questions asked. Write to Polar through the link in your receipt.
After 14 days, refunds are at FoxQuill’s discretion. If FoxQuill does not work on your computer and cannot be made to, ask anyway.
Your local consumer law may give you more than this. It always wins over these terms.
Your data#
Your writing stays on your computer. FoxQuill has no account and no cloud, and sends no telemetry.
The sharing feature is the exception, and only when you use it: it uploads a copy of the chapter or book you chose, encrypted, to a relay service, so that the person you sent the link to can read it. The relay cannot read it. The key travels only inside the link you send. Revoking the link deletes the stored copy. The Privacy notice has the detail.
Leaving with your work#
Export is always available and always will be. Settings > Export writes your book as Word, EPUB, PDF, Markdown, plain text, or one JSON file that carries everything. This works during the trial, after a license lapses, and after a refund.
You are never locked out of your own writing.
What is not allowed#
You may not resell FoxQuill, share your license key, or take the program apart to make your own version of it. The EULA says this properly.
If something goes wrong#
FoxQuill is sold as it is. FoxQuill does not promise it is free of faults, and is not liable for lost work. Keep backups. FoxQuill makes one every night and gives you a button for more, but the copies live on your computer, and a computer can be lost.
Nothing here removes a right your local law gives you, and nothing here limits liability for anything the law says cannot be limited.
Changes#
These terms may change for future purchases. The terms you bought under stay the terms of your purchase.
Governing law#
Singapore law, and the Singapore courts. If your local consumer law says otherwise, your local law applies.
